Travel to Senggigi, Lombok, Indonesia – a peaceful village

A peaceful village, a quiet beach, and local people willing to help us.

The name Senggigi is fun to say so I don’t think I can forget that for a long time.

One day that I was looking for a travel agency for a boat to another island, A minibus came to me and say “Where are you looking for?” and then the driver tried to take us to a travel agency. At the moment, I was afraid of him and I was thinking “What if we are kidnapped?” so I turned him down politely but Now that I recall the moment, I think he was a good man.

I book a room in Senggigi for three nights. Actually, I didn’t care about accommodation there because the next destination was more important to me. however, Senggigi Cottages Lombok where I stayed was very impressive. You will recognize what I’m saying after looking at the photos.

On the way to my room. It looks very eco-friendly

There is a tiny swimming pool even though it is a small hotel. I really wanted to show you some pictures of my room, but I didn’t take any photos of the room. My bad!

As soon as I checked in, I rented a motorbike and go to the beach nearby. No tourists there, but us so I was in a good mood to relax.

Cute local kids.

All of the buildings are made of wood in this area. I love this atmosphere.

On the way back to the hotel, I saw a horse cart, but the big tree is more impressive.

The man selling hand-made bracelets made of lava stone or wood. I bought three bracelets because It cost very cheap even though it took a long time to make them. I still have them until now.

The great sunset in Senggigi.

Asmara Restaurant. I ordered some local cuisine and It looked like healthy food. My friend shouted “This is the best food in Indonesia” several times, but it was not for me, honestly.

These are what I ordered.

The next day, I left for Gili Trawangan Island by speed boat. Senggigi Ferry Terminal is very close to downtown Senggigi.

For your information, The public boat is much cheaper than this speed boat but it takes about 30 minutes drive to the Bangsal public Ferry station by taxi from Senggigi.
